We understand that you may have many questions for us. So we
went ahead and answered some common ones that may help you.
Before we arrive, please clear all surfaces that we will be working on, including counters, showers, and floors. Try to leave clear open space for us to work with. We can assist with some medium sized furniture if needed, such as tables and chairs. But we cannot assist with large and heavy items like large cabinets, pianos, beds, sculptures, etc.
If the restoration work requires access to the areas near the faucet, aerator, or spouts, please coordinate with a handyman or plumber to have them removed prior to our arrival. If not, we will do our best to work around them.
For apartments or condominiums, please reserve the closest parking to the unit so work can commence without logistic issues. Additionally, please speak with maintenance/management to secure a waterspout closest to the parking area. If no water is available, advanced notification must be provided and a water transportation fee will be added to the estimate.
For any work requiring grouting of cracks, please leave the area dry for 3 days to prevent any moisture build up under the surface of the repairs. Excess moisture can affect curing quality and times of grout once applied. Additionally, maximizing air circulation with fans will add to the assurance of a lasting repair.
You may use the counters and walk on floors, but please allow 48 hours on all surfaces freshly sealed to remain clear and dry for optimal cure quality.
Please allow 72 hours on any grouting or caulking work to remain dry for optimal cure time.
Please avoid using the shower for 48 hours after work on it has been completed for optimal cure time—72 hours if grouting work was included.
We recommend having a back up plan to use an alternative shower from relatives, friends, neighbors, gyms, recreation centers, etc.
If you have multiple showers that need work, we can separate work into different days so that you can use the shower that hasn't been worked on. If you prefer work to be separated, an additional fee maybe incurred for the extra visit depending on job size and location.
No, we do not remove faucets, aerators, spouts, or similar fixtures before we start restoration work. But we do recommend having them removed beforehand for optimal restoration results.
We recommend hiring a plumber to remove the fixtures beforehand, especially for highly visible areas like kitchen islands. But sometimes certain surfaces are not highly visible from view so temporary fixture removal may not be necessary.
If they are not removed, we will do our best to work around them.
Thankfully, refinishing stone is a dustless process since we use plenty of water that keeps the dust as a paste. It gets everywhere, but not to worry! Our preparation costs are included in the estimates to
collect 95% of the mess using plastic tarps. The 5% we might miss are non-damaging and will be hand-wiped before we collect payment.
For any outdoor power washing, please leave the sprinklers off for 48 hours prior to ensure there is no deep set moisture that could affect the curing of the sealer. And like the other areas, please have everything cleared so work can commence
immediately upon arrival.
We recommend maintaining your surfaces daily by wiping it down with MORE Stone & Quartz Cleaner w/Antimicrobial. For larger areas, we recommend Crystal Clean by Stonepro due to its availability in concentrated form.
Not only are these great neutral cleaners to use, but they also have an added protectant to prolong the life of the current sealer.
If you need more professional help or have any other issues with maintainence, reach out to us and we'll be glad to help.
Although the sealers we use are rated up to 15 years under some conditions, daily wear and tear will lower that number a significant amount. We recommend cleaning and resealing floors and counters every 5-10 years and showers every 1-2 years.
No, additional preventative maintenance will not be the full cost of a full stone restoration.
In addition to only paying for the cleaning and sealing, you get 20% off when scheduling within your recommended window!
Please pre-vacuum carpets before we arrive to prevent any additional preparation fees. Although we have our own equipment, we always try to use vacuum cleaners tied to the home to reduce any potential cross contamination of allergens or pet dander between households.
Yes, be sure to read through our blanket waiver and digitally sign to approve the work. If you are not able to sign, a signature can be given on the day work begins.
